As metalworking fluid manufacturers work to advance their current formulations, they also must address the complexities of new environmental, health and safety (EH&S) regulations, and new materials, processes and equipment. This, combined with a decreasing portfolio of approved chemistries and increasing end-user focus on improving cost efficiency and productivity of their operations, only adds to the challenges metalworking fluid manufacturers face when formulating within EH&S criteria while meeting end-user cost and performance requirements.
While even the smallest changes to the basic building blocks of a formulation can make a measurable impact on overall fluid performance, these changes can also create a ripple effect into labeling, cost and end-user preferences that must be addressed. In many cases, the larger the formulary change, the larger the ripple.
With ANGUS’ unique portfolio of CORRGUARD™ multifunctional additives, formulators can make minor formulary adjustments to address today’s metalworking fluid landscape while meeting, and exceeding, fluid performance needs. This presentation focuses on a new perspective for scaling changes in working formulations to tackle the latest market trends while managing the ripple effect into cost, performance and labeling criteria.
